CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's tennis team won their second match of the fall season with a convincing 8-1 win over the visiting Messiah University on Friday evening at the Hays Tennis Courts.
Doubles (Devils 2-1)
The third pair of
Izzy Desjardins and
Alisa Steele continued to showoff great teamwork as they flew past Nicole Lee and Angela Tozzi by a score of 8-1.
Anabelle Armendarez and
Dana Kleinman were strong as well knocking off Kiersten Strohecker and Kylie Walker 8-3. Dickinson's lone setback in the match came at first doubles with
Martine Fierro and
Ariana Goitz dropping a hard-fought 8-5 decision to Kasi Conjack and Isabella Heckman.Â
Singles (Devils 6-0)
The first-year Steele showcased dominance at the number five slot blanking Strohecker 6-0, 6-0. Armendarez put up a shutout in the first set versus Walker en route to a 6-0, 6-4 win at third singles, while Kleinman repeated the process in the fourth spot taking the match against Lee 6-0, 6-2. In the top spot Fierro limited her opponent to just four game as she took down Conjack 6-1, 6-3. Desjardins and Goitz posted identical scorelines of 6-1, 6-4 at second and sixth singles respectively.

This Red Devils (2-0) will now have to wait until the spring to return to the courts.Â
