Box Score CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's basketball team held the visiting Franklin & Marshall College Diplomats to 14-56 (25%) shooting from the floor including, 0-10 from long range and forcing 16 turnovers en route to a 53-37 Centennial Conference win on Tuesday night at the Kline Center.
The visitors were out of the gates first with buckets from Kennedy Wilburn and Kenna Williams sandwiching a score by Gina Neigel for a 4-2 edge in the opening two minutes. The two then combined to miss their next six shots until Mia Kolb converted a layup to tie the score. Natalie Kolb made it 6-4, before a triple by Clair Marion and four points for Kate Montgomery brought the home team in front 11-8 with 3:24 to play. Kolb and Montgomery would add points the rest of the quarter for a 16-10 lead after one.
Neigel and Wilburn exchanged buckets in a 29-seconds span at the start of the second. Two foul shots by Marion sparked an 8-0 Devils charge with Lindsey Hollenshead, Montgomery, and Neigel all chipping in to open up a 28-12 advantage with less than four minutes to play. F&M cut it to 28-16 on a layup by Ally Trebelev, but the hosts closed on a 6-0 push with Jennifer Kremp and Caitlin Blackman beating the buzzer to make it 34-16 at the break.
Williams netted four points as part of a 6-1 run over the first four minutes of the third to trim the deficit down to 35-22. A three-ball from Kremp stalled the Diplomats momentum for a moment before F&M added six straight to close within 38-30. Montgomery scored the Red and Black's final points of the period with a layup after following up her own missed shot making it 40-31 through three.
Kolb, Marion, and Montgomery each finished off a layup to begin the fourth to extend the margin to 46-33 with 5:44 remaining. A Wilburn score appeared to give F&M life, but Kremp answered right back with a three to push the lead back to 49-35. Kayla Rose, Jenna Weinstein, and Kremp scored four of the game's final six points for the 53-37 final.
