(New Haven, Conn.) – The #23-ranked Dickinson women's squash team advanced to the consolation final of the Walker Cup (C Division) bracket at the College Squash Association Team Championships with a 6-3 win over #22-ranked William Smith on Saturday.
The Herons claimed the top-flight, but the Red Devils would earn points in the next six flights to win the match.
Sophomore Lindsay Kuracina (Thornhill, Ontario, Canada/Lake Forest) survived another tough battle in the second flight, winning (11-13, 11-7, 10-12, 11-4, 11-4).
Eloise Nimoityn (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Episcopal Academy) and Jocelyn Feliciano (New Haven, Conn./Ethel Walker School) claimed straight set wins in the third and fifth flights while Aya Sobhy (Stroudsburg, Pa./Blair Academy) won the four-spot, 3-1.
Doxey Loupassi (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine's) survived a tough first set to win (13-11, 11-8, 11-6) and Jaime Leigh Edghill (Diego Martin, Trinidad & Tobago/Holy Name) had a strong outing, winning (11-5, 11-5, 11-4).
The Red Devils improve to 8-12 on the season. They will face Bowdoin College on Sunday morning at 9:00 am.
