(Carlisle, Pa.) – The #20-ranked Dickinson women's squash team turned back #28 Hamilton College, 6-3, on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Courtney Trail (Palmerston North, N.Z./Palmerston North Girls' School) won the top-flight in straight sets (11-4, 11-4, 11-4) while first-year Doxey Loupassi (Richmond, Va./St. Catherine's) added a point at number six, surviving a five-set thriller (11-4, 12-14, 12-10, 8-11, 12-10) to put the Red Devils in front, 2-1.
Aya Sobhy (Stroudsburg, Pa./Blair Academy) overcame a 2-0 deficit (15-17, 6-11) to rally for a win in the fourth flight, closing out the match (11-7, 13-11, 11-6).
The Continentals posted wins in the seventh and ninth flights to cut the deficit to 3-2 before Eloise Nimoityn (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Episcopal Academy) won the second flight (9-11, 11-2, 11-6, 11-4) for a 4-2 advantage.
Hamilton made things interesting with its third point before Jaime Leigh Edghill (Diego Martin, Trinidad (Tobago/Holy Name) clinched the match at number five (11-8, 11-6, 7-11, 11-3).
First-year Jocelyn Feliciano (New Haven, Conn./Ethel Walker School) won the third in four sets (11-9, 11-13, 11-8, 11-4) for the final point.
The Red Devils improve to 3-3 on the season. They head on the road this week and will face Bowdoin and Bates on Wednesday.
