Double-Doubles Lead Red Devils to Big Win

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's basketball team turned in a pair of dominant quarters to post a 75-40 win over visiting Bryn Mawr College on Tuesday night at the Kline Center.

The Owls put up a fight in the early going and trailed just 9-7, with 4:46 remaining in the first quarter. Four different players scored to put the Red Devils in front, 17-9, with just over two minutes to play.

Bryn Mawr cut the deficit to four at the first intermission, 17-13. Dickinson made a strong defensive stand in the second period, holding the Owls to just four points, doubling up the visitors, 36-18, at halftime.

Kassidy Lesher (Shoemakersville, Pa./Hamburg) had a great start, recording a double-double in the first half with 15 points and 11 rebounds. Mairead Donahue (Trumbull, Conn./St. Joseph) came out strong as well, netting seven points to go with four rebounds.

Dickinson maintained the lead in the third quarter, holding a 21-16 advantage in the period. They finished strong, outscoring the Owls, 18-6, over the final 10 minutes.

Lesher led the way with a monster outing, scoring 25 points while going 5-for-6 from the free throw line and controlling 13 rebounds, including seven on the offensive end.

Donahue finished with a double-double as well, scoring 11 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Sophomore Hannah Heiring (Wayzata, Minn./Wayzata) tallied nine points and blocked two shots while first-year Halle Maeda (Santa Monica, Calif./Mira Costa) added seven points, five rebounds, two assists and a pair of steals.

Lauren McBride (Trenton, N.J./Gill St. Bernard's) scored seven points as well, adding four rebounds, two assists, a block and a steal. Hannah Peck (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart) came on to tally six points and four rebounds.

Halena Martin led Bryn Mawr with 11 points and eight rebounds.

The Red Devils improve to 3-9 overall and 3-4 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Ursinus College for a 6:00 pm tip-off on Thursday and will head to the Palestra on Sunday to face Washington College at 5:30 pm.
