(Lancaster, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's squash team returned to action, traveling to Franklin & Marshall to face the #13-ranked Diplomats and #15-ranked Middlebury College on Saturday. The #22-ranked Red Devils had a pair of tough outings, falling 8-1 to Middlebury and 9-0 to the hosts.
Sophomore Domenica Romo (Ambato, Ecuador/Colegio Atenas) earned the lone win against Middlebury, claiming a (7-11, 11-8, 11-8, 5-11, 11-9) win in the second flight. She had a strong match against F&M, dropping a tight, 3-2, decision (11-7, 2-11, 11-7, 7-11, 11-9).
Sophomore Abbie Wingerd (Berwyn, Pa./Conestoga) turned in a pair of strong performances as well while senior Patricia Francis-Hall (New York, N.Y./Pomfret School) posted an exhibition win against the Diplomats (11-2, 11-5, 11-8).
The Red Devils slip to 3-6 overall. They travel to Connecticut College next Thursday for a 4:00 pm start and then on to Boston for a series of matches on Friday and Saturday.
