Box Score (Reading, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team played to a 1-1 draw at Penn State Berks on Wednesday night. Both teams scored in the first half and then went scoreless through two overtimes to finished even.
The Red Devils capitalized on a free kick in the 29th minute as first-year Eryn McDonald (Scarsdale, N.Y./Scarsdale) served a header to junior Alexandra Goldrich (Little Silver, N.J./Red Bank Regional) to put Dickinson in front, 1-0.
The Lions tallied the equalizer with just over three minutes remaining in the half as Dana Sarcinello finished an assist from Charlotte Pizzuto.
Both team recorded five shots in the first half, but Berks went on the offensive in the second half, holding a 10-2 advantage. The produced five more shots in the overtime periods to finish the match with a 19-9 edge. The Red Devils forced five corners while allowing just four from Penn State.
Paige Elmy made four save for the hosts while Mary Katherine Brosnan (Old Tappan, N.J./Northern Valley Old Tappan) made three and Amanda Masterson (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) came on to stop four shots in the second half and in overtime.
Penn State Berks moved to 3-2-1 on the season while the Red Devils stand at 4-1-2 overall. Dickinson returns home and to Centennial Conference play on Saturday, hosting Swarthmore College at 1:00 pm.
