Box Score (Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, falling 1-0 to visiting Haverford College in the Centennial Conference opener on Saturday afternoon at Miller Memorial Field.
Kendra Griesman found the net after a corner, just two minutes into the contest and that would prove to be the game-winner as the teams played scoreless for the remainder of the match.
Both teams would generate chances throughout the afternoon but neither would find the net. Haverford hit the post in the second half while the Red Devils saw a shot slide just wide on a potential equalizer.
The Red Devils held a 13-7 advantage in shots for the match while each team forced two corners in the second half.
Kathy Prescott made five saves, including four in the second half to secure the shutout as Haverford improves to 4-1-0.
Amanda Masterson (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) and Mary Katherine Brosnan (Old Tappan, N.J./Northern Valley Regional Old Tappan) split time in the nets for Dickinson. Brosnan had the Devils' lone save in the second half.
The Red Devils slip to 4-1-1 overall and 0-1-0 in the conference. They travel to Penn State Berks on Wednesday for a 7:00 pm kick-off with the Lions.
