(Lancaster, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's swim team improved to 6-1 on the season and 3-0 in the Centennial Conference, posting a 115-73 road win at Franklin & Marshall on Saturday afternoon.
First-year Ben Shapiro (Wynnewood, Pa./Friends Central) started things off, leading the Devils to a win in the 400 medley relay. The relay clocked a time of 3:34.83 while Shapiro added individual wins in the 200 individual medley (1:58.45) and the 200 backstroke (1:59.04).
Junior Alex Bennett (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) was a triple-winner as well, claiming the 200 and 500 yard freestyle events with times of 1:47.79 and 4:55.67. He led-off the winning 400 free relay for a time of 3:17.44.
Sophomore Mitch Reynolds (Frederick, Md./Frederick) won the 1000 freestyle and placed second behind Bennett in the 500, clocking marks of 10:07.21 and 4:56.33.
Junior Sam Eaton (Port Matilda, Pa./State College) joined the medley relay and added a win in the 200 yard breaststroke with a time of 2:12.04. Michael Lenker (Sparta, N.J./Sparta) and Nick Beard (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) made it a 1-2-3 sweep in the breaststroke.
Senior Alan Karickhoff (Willoughby, Ohio/The Hawken School) had a 1-2-3 day as well, winning the free relay, placing second in the 100 freestyle and third in the 200 free.
First-year Kiernan Jordan (Dumfries, Va./Forest Park) was a double-winner, touching the wall first in the 200 butterfly (1:56.47) and swimming the third leg of the medley relay.
Sophomore Allen Belo (Odenton, Md./Severn School) anchored the free relay and placed third in the 50 freestyle. Junior Travis Lipscomb (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights) was second in the 50 freestyle and was the third leg in the free relay. First-year Kevin Potocki (Fayetteville, N.Y./Jamesville Dewitt) swam the anchor leg of the medley.
The Red Devils claimed nine of 11 events on the day to remain unbeaten in the conference and improve to 6-1 overall. They return home to face Gettysburg College on Wednesday night. The first event is scheduled for a 7:00 pm start.
