(Swarthmore, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team suffered a 2-0 setback at unbeaten Swarthmore College on Saturday afternoon. The Garnet struck once in each half to improve to 8-0 on the season and 2-0 in the Centennial Conference.
Caroline Khanna put Swarthmore on the board in the 33rd minute, scoring off an assist from Hannah Lichtenstein, netting her fifth goal of the year.
The Garnet had a chance earlier as Charlotte Armour (New Haven, Conn./Choate Rosemary Hall) made a save on a shot by Marin McCoy. McCoy headed a ball off the crossbar and then sent another shot high as the match stayed level.
McCoy would find the net later, scoring just 3:33 into the second half to give the Garnet an insurance goal. Yasmeen Namazie tallied an assist, serving a long ball to McCoy who slipped a low shot into the corner.
Armour finished with six saves on the night as Swarthmore held a 21-4 shot advantage and an 11-3 edge in corners. Reba Magier made two saves for Swarthmore.
The Red Devils slip to 4-2-2 overall and 0-1-1 in Centennial Conference play. The Red Devils return home to face Messiah College on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm.
