(Collegeville, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team fell at Ursinus, 3-1, on Saturday afternoon. The Red Devils struck first, but the Bears answered with three goals, all in the first half to claim the win.
Dickinson jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute as first-year forward Briona Davis (Franklin Park, N.J./Franklin) scored off an assist by senior forward Jenna Lamb (Fairfax, Va./Robinson Secondary).
Ursinus countered with a goal from junior Erin Farrell at the 16:08 mark on an assist from sophomore midfielder Kendall Couch to pull the Bears even.
The Bears then saw back-to-back goals from first-year Kasey Sheahan in the 37th and 40th minutes to break open the 1-1 game and cap a 3-0 run for the Bears.
Sheahan then scored her first goal on a shot from 10-yards out at 36:18, followed by another goal at 39:04 on a breakaway.
With just 19 shots total in the game, Ursinus held a slim 10-9 advantage while each team forced three corners on the day. Ursinus got two saves from junior goalkeeper Courtney Sullivan and one from sophomore Marisa Kalkstein.
Senior goalkeeper Charlotte Armour (New Haven, Conn./Choate-Rosemary Hall) made one save for the Red Devils.
Ursinus improves to 11-4 overall and 6-3 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils slip to 7-7-2 overall and 3-5-1 in the CC. Dickinson is off until next Saturday when the travel to Franklin & Marshall for the regular season finale at 1:00 pm.
