Red Devil Men Dunk Diplomats 109-79

 

 

(Lancaster, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's and women's swim teams both turned in outstanding efforts on Saturday, sweeping Franklin & Marshall. The Red Devil men posted a score of 109-79, while the women were victorious, 112-93.

 

Senior Brandon Gauthier (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) led the way with a triple-win afternoon. He swam the anchor leg of the winning 400 medley relay (3:35.30), and posted individual wins in the 200 individual medley (2:00.84) and the 200 breaststroke (2:13.12).

 

Classmate Jason Adams (Kingston, Jamaica/Kent School, Conn.) swam the lead leg of the medley relay and won the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.27. He touched the wall second in the 100 free, clocking a time of 48.21.

 

Junior Chris Miles (Hartford, Conn./Kingswood Oxford) won the 200 backstroke (1:57.90), placing second with the 400 free relay and third in the 200 freestyle (1:46.11).

 

Senior Cameron Phillips (Woburn, Mass./Phillips Academy Andover) was a double-winner, claiming the 200 butterfly (2:01.92) and swimming the third leg of the winning medley relay. Classmate Sam Eaton (Port Matilda, Pa./State College) joined the medley relay and placed second in the breaststroke (2:13.12).

 

First-year Alex Bennett (Baltimore, Md./Loyola Blakefield) tallied three, second-place finishes. He led-off the free relay, and added points in the 200 freestyle (1:46.08) and the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:52.09. Classmate Joe Caucino (Sea Girt, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy) was second in the 1000 freestyle (10:24.84) and third in the 500, finishing in 4:52.09.

 

Travis Lipscomb (San Antonio, Texas/Alamo Heights) placed third in the individual medley (2:02.68) and swam with the free relay. Sophomore Alan Karickhoff (Willoughby, Ohio/Hawken School) anchored the free relay. Micah Smith (Clemmons, N.C./West Forsyth) and Slade Reisner (Randolph, N.J./Randolph) added third place showings in the 50 freestyle (22.62) and the butterfly (2:06.43), respectively.

 

The Red Devils improve to 7-3 overall and 2-2 in the Centennial Conference. They return home to face Gettysburg College on Wednesday night at 7:00 pm.
