(Haverford, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to Haverford, 1-0, in Saturday's Centennial Conference opener on the Main Line.
Phoebe Miller fed a through ball to Meg Boyer in the 31st minute for the lone goal of the game. The teams battled evenly throughout the match with Dickinson holding a slim, 9-7, edge in shots. They allowed just one corner, but were only able to force a pair on the offensive end of the field.
Senior Annie Weichert (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) made five saves in goal for the Red Devils while Robin Chernow stopped six shots for Haverford.
The 'Fords improve to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils slip to 5-1 overall. They return home to face Gettysburg College on Wednesday night. That game will be played in Biddle Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 7:30 pm.
