(Haverford, Pa.) - The
Dickinson College women's soccer team suffered a tough, 2-1 setback
at Haverford College on Saturday afternoon. |
The 'Fords took a 1-0 lead just before the end of the first half
as Elizabeth Levitan finished a cross from Michele Buonora with
just 2:46 on the clock.
Sophomore Sarah Montminy (Centre Hall, Pa./Penns
Valley)tied the game, scoring on a scramble in front of
the Haverford goal with 14:31 remaining in regulation.
Haverford regained the lead just 2:44 later when Katie Van Aken
scored on a deflection off the defense with an assist from Sarah
Andrage.
The Devils appeared to have a chance to tie
when Genevieve Olson (Quincy, Mass./Thayer
Academy) was taken down inside the area with just
over six minutes to play. The Devils did not get the call and
Haverford held on for a key conference win.
Kayleigh Herrick-Reynolds made seven saves in goal for Haverford
as they improve to 11-2-2 overall and 6-2 in the CC.
Kailyn Hartmann (Darien, Conn./St.
Luke's) made three saves for Dickinson.
The Red Devils slip to 12-3 overall and 5-3 in the conference.
They travel to Gettysburg for a 7:00 kick-off on Tuesday night.
