Alec Beatty

Dickinson College Director of Athletics Celine Cunningham is proud to announce another new addition to the Red Devil family as Alec Beatty has been named the Senior Associate Athletic Director.

"We are thrilled to have Alec join our team here at Dickinson" said Cunningham. "He is a rising star in athletics administration as well as an incredibly bright individual with a strong affinity for Division III athletics. He will be a great addition to our staff, and we cannot wait for him to start."

Beatty shared his excitement to join the Dickinson family saying, "Dickinson has a strong reputation, history and tradition in the DIII world." He went on to add "The school exemplifies the model of balancing competitive academics and competitive athletics, and the opportunity to be a member of that culture does not come along very often."

Beatty, has spent the last three years at Yale University where he has served as the Director of Operations, Facilities and Rentals. In that capacity, he was tasked with overseeing and managing all aspects of external groups and rental events that used the Yale athletic facilities. He also created yearly rental revenue projections and planning, in addition to assisting with major capital projects (planning improvements, scheduling and approval of orders). Prior to his time in New Haven, Connecticut he spent the 2021-2022 academic year in Orlando, Florida at the University of Central Florida (UCF) helping to plan, prep and direct operation for UCF athletic events and facility rentals.

Prior to beginning his professional career, Beatty attended Division III Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota where he was an All-American Wide Receiver for the Scots hauling in 178 passes for 2901 total yards. He also earned the Fulbright Award which allowed him to go to Kosovo during the 2019-2020 academic year to represent the U.S. State Department as an English Teaching Assistant. After graduating from Macalester, he continued his education by obtaining his Master's degree from the University of Washington in Intercollegiate Athletic Leadership.

"Division III student-athletes understand the tricky balance of academics, athletics and other interests" stated Beatty. "As a former DIII student-athlete, I am excited to get to know the Dickinson student-athletes both on and off the field/court/pool/track. I know that they are highly competitive and want to win at a high-level and I want to be able to support that in any way I can as well."
