BRYN MAWR, Pa. - The Dickinson women's swimming team won the final ten races of Saturday's Centennial Conference meet to secure a comfortable 164-97 road win over Bryn Mawr College inside the Bryn Mawr Pool.
The Red and White began the day by claiming victory in the 200-yard medley relay as the team of
Madeline Dold,
Bella Gerkin,
Anna Gnagey and
Sarah McHenry posted a time of 1:55.12, while the group of
Sydney Farling,
Emma Johnston,
Tori May and
Molly Whitaker took up second at 2:00.99.
Sarah Mulcahy secured second during the 1000-yard freestyle by getting to the wall in 12:01.37, followed by Isobell O'Connell in fourth (12:14.38).
Dold finished off the podium for the 200-yard freestyle stopping the clock at 2:07.31 with
Meghan Schmidt right behind her in fourth (2:08.05).
Dickinson would finish one-two in the 100-yard backstroke with Gnagey winning the race with a 59.97, before May clocked in at 1:01.85 for second.
A trio of Devils went to the pool for the 100-yard breaststroke with Gerkin grabbing another win for DC at 1:11.62, while Farling and Whitaker nabbed third (1:12.95) and fifth (1:22.70) respectively.
It would be another DC victory during the 200-yard butterfly as Johnston posted a 2:19.03 which held off
Izzy Klonsky at 2:26.72.
A Dickinson duo found the podium for the 50-yard freestyle with
Caitlin Gross claiming the fourth consecutive win for the visitors by hitting the touchpad in 25.36, followed by McHenry in third (27.36).
Gross then doubled-up during the next event by besting the field in the 100-yard freestyle thanks to a time of 57.18 which edged out Dold in second at 59.35.
The next event was the 200-yard backstroke and that was when May made Bryn Mawr Pool history by setting the new facility record with a 2:09.76. O'Connell also competed and just missed the podium landing in fourth (2:33.37).
Dickinson ran the streak to six straight wins in the 200-yard breaststroke with Farling posting a time of 2:34.71, while Gerkin collected third thanks to a 2:38.56.
The duo of Klonsky and Schmidt kept things rolling right along as they finished one (5:43.89) and two (5:46.78) for the 500-yard freestyle.
It became eight in a row with Gnagey's triumph during the 100-yard butterfly as she clocked in at 1:00.58, followed by Mulcahy in 1:05.83 to secure third.
Johnston picked up the win for the 200-yard individual medley with a 2:20.30, which beat out McHenry and her 2:23.46 for second.
The Red and White ended the meet by winning their tenth straight event as the team of Dold, Gross, May and Schmidt posted a 1:45.01, while the other unit of Farling, Gerkin, Mulcahy and O'Connell grabbed third (1:51.46).

Dickinson (6-4, 2-4 Centennial) will attempt to make it six straight meet wins next Saturday when they head to Westminster, Maryland for a conference matchup against McDaniel College beginning at 1pm.
