YORK, Pa. - The Dickinson women's swimming team returned to action with a big bang on Wednesday night by taking down both the host York College of Pennsylvania and Hood College inside the York College Nataorium. The Devils posted a 123-78 win over the home-standing Spartans and a 147-44 triumph against the Blazers.
The Red and White started the meet with a victory in the 200-yard medley relay thanks to the team of
Madeline Dold,
Bella Gerkin,
Anna Gnagey and
Emma Johnston posting a 1:53.71. The other DC unit with
Sydney Farling,
Sarah McHenry,
Sarah Mulcahy and
Meghan Schmidt nabbing third at 1:58.91.
Tori May claimed the win during the 1000-yard freestyle by getting to the wall in 11:09.17, which edged out teammate
Izzy Klonsky in second at 11:41.57.
Caitlin Gross was the highest finishing Devil in the 200-yard freestyle seizing third at 2:03.70, while the group of Johnston (2:08.00), Schmidt (2:08.12) and
Annelyse Warner (2:19.07) took up slots five through seven.
Dold collected her first individual win of the night by clocking in at 26.45 during the 50-yard freestyle, followed by Isobell O'Connell in third (26.82) and Farling in fifth (27.34).
The duo of Gnagey and Gerkin had success in the 200-yard individual medley taking first (2:12.55) and third (2:31.23) respectively.
It was another "one-two" DC finish for the 200-yard butterfly as Mulcahy won the event with a 2:21.15, while Johnston hit the wall at 2:32.42.
Dold grabbed her second solo victory during the 100-yard freestyle by clocking in with a 58.83 and was joined on the podium by Klonsky in third (59.82).
May got another win for the Devils in the 200-yard backstroke thanks to a 2:12.54. McHenry and O'Connell landed in third (2:21.09) and fourth (2:28.95) respectively.
Schmidt rounded out the podium for the 500-yard freestyle with a 5:49.02, while Warner claimed sixth (6:12.34).
In the 200-yard breaststroke Farling finished in second at 2:38.98, followed by Gerkin with her 2:40.42.
Dickinson ended the meet by besting the competition for the 400-yard freestyle relay as Gnagey, Gross, Klonsky and May posted a 3:48.87, followed by the group of McHenry, Mulcahy, O'Connell and Warner who claimed third (4:12.77).

Dickinson (4-4, 1-4 Centennial) will hold their one and only home meet of the season on Saturday afternoon at 1pm when they welcome Messiah University to the Clarke Aquatic Center.
