GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Dickinson women's swim team returned to action on Friday with a visit to conference foe Gettysburg College. The Red and White were able to post some good swims, but ultimately fell to the Bullets by a score of 153-46 inside of Bullets Pool.
In the first race of the night unit of
Sydney Farling,
Anna Gnagey,
Caitlin Gross and
Izzy Klonsky grabbed thrid in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:52.62, while the other DC with
Madeline Dold,
Bella Gerkin,
Sarah McHenry and
Sarah Mulcahy nabbed fifth (1:58.35).
Tori May rounded out the podium for the 200-yard freestyle by getting to the wall in 2:00.99, followed by
Meghan Schmidt in sixth at 2:07.28.
Two Devils went to the pool for the 200-yard individual medley with Gnagey taking second (2:11.18) and Gerkin claiming sixth (2:40.06).
The Red and White took up fourth and fifth during the 50-yard freestyle thanks to Dold (26.54) and McHenry (27.32).
Mulcahy landed in second during the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.96, while Klonsky grabbed fourth in 1:04.32.
Gross had a solid swim in the 100-yard freestyle as her time of 56.04 was good for third, followed by Dold two spots back (58.90).
Two Devils landed on the podium for the 500-yard freestyle with May earning second in 5:20.34, followed immediately by Gnagey at 5:23.98.
A pair of Dickinson teams did battle during the 200-yard freestyle relay with the team of Dold, Gross, McHenry and Schmidt collecting second at 1:45.06, while Farling, Klonsky, May and Mulcahy nabbing third (1:49.63).
McHenry was the only DC athlete in the 100-yard backstroke posting a mark of 1:04.33 for fourth.
The trio of Farling, Mulcahy and Gerkin seized fifth (1:12.76), sixth (1:14.79) and seventh (1:15.85) respectively during the 100-yard breaststroke.
In the last event of the day the 400-yard freestyle relay Gnagey, Gross, May and Schmidt earned second by getting to the wall in 3:45.04.
On the Pool Deck
Dickinson (1-4, 1-4 Centennial) returns to action next Friday night at 6pm when they head to Elizabethtown College to take on the Blue Jays.
