CARLISLE, Pa. – The Dickinson men's squash team dropped their first match of the 2024-25 season on Wednesday night falling to No. 20 Navy by a score 9-0 at the Kline Squash Center.
Inside the Match:
The Red Devil men had a tough hill to climb in this midweek matchup against a nationally-ranked opponent. Navy controlled most of the matches with their steady play and extraordinary fitness, but that didn't stop the Red Devils putting up a strong effort and some good patches of play. Senior Aidan Ray stole the first two sets in the fifth flight against a higher rated opponent, however, the fitness played a factor and Navy fought back to take the fifth flight 3-2. Graduate student Samuel Knipp put up great fight in the 4th flight, with each set coming down to the wore, however, Navy pulled through to win in three sets. Navy took out the remaining matches in three sets, however, first-year Fabrizio Nunez Ortiz played his best match for the red and white in the exhibition match, stealing a set, before falling in four.
