CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's swimming team took to the Clarke Aquatic Center pool for the first time during the 2024-25 season on Saturday afternoon as they welcomed Swarthmore College to town. Unfortunately, for the Red and White the Garnet posted a 165-38 conference win.
The day began with the team of
Madeline Dold,
Bella Gerkin,
Anna Gnagey and
Tori May taking third in the 400-yard medley relay with a time of 4:10.25.
Sydney Farling,
Izzy Klonsky,
Sarah McHenry and
Meghan Schmidt made up the second unit for DC and claimed fifth at 4:20.33.
May earned a podium spot during the 400-yard individual medley as her mark of 4:47.49 was good for third, followed by
Sarah Mulcahy in fifth (5:09.64).
A different DC duo went to work in the 200-yard freestyle with
Caitlin Gross earning fifth at 2:04.24 and Dold grabbing sixth (2:07.34).
Schmidt and Klonsky nabbed fifth (27.21) and sixth (27.53) respectively during the 50-yard freestyle.
The 100-yard individual medley saw Gnagey not only take third, but set a new school record with a time of 1:00.80 edging out the previous mark of 1:01.63. Gerkin rounded out the competing athletes with a sixth-place finish thanks to a 1:09.86.
Mulcahy and Klonsky nabbed third (2:20.56) and fourth (2:25.18) for the 200-yard butterfly.
Dickinson seized fourth and sixth in the 100-yard freestyle courtesy of Gross (56.05) and Farling (59.59).
Gnagey had a strong swim during the 200-yard backstroke taking second at 2:10.57, followed by McHenry in sixth (2:20.89).
May was the lone Devils to compete in the 500-yard freestyle clocking in at 5:28.77 for second.
The pair of Farling and Gerkin took to the pool for the 200-yard breaststroke grabbing fifth (2:40.01) and sixth (2:41.67).
The team of Dold, Gross, McHenry and Schmidt claimed fifth in the final event of the day the 200-yard freestyle relay thanks to a 1:45.33.

Dickinson (1-3, 1-3 Centennial) will return to action in almost two weeks when they head down to the Battlefield for a conference meet against Gettysburg College on Friday, November 8th at 5pm.
