CARLISLE, Pa. - The visiting Franklin and Marshall College outscored the Dickinson men's basketball 52-30 in the paint and held the Red and White to no double-digit scorers en route to 73-45 Centennial Conference win at the Kline Center on Wednesday night.
Dickinson had three early leads at 2-0, 5-4 and 8-6 thanks to a layup from
Martin Mann and a pair of triples for
Brandon Wiercinski with five minutes off the clock. A layup by John Seidman drew things even 8-8, before
Aaron Bailey hit a runner in the lane for the slim 10-8 edge. However, that woke up the visitors offense as Vakaris Grauslys, Josh Parra and Omar Nichols led a 17-2 charge to take a 25-12 advantage at the 12:46 mark. Jumpers by
Blessing Agbonlaho,
Isaiah Edmond and Mann helped DC chip away a little bit making it 30-20 inside the final three minutes. The Diplomats ended on a 7-2 push, including a tip-in layup by Parra at the horn for the 37-21 edge through 20 minutes.
Layups by Edmond and Mann allowed the Devils to hold the margin where it was at 41-25 with two minutes gone in half number two. Three points each from Grauslys and Nichols coupled with a jumper for Seidman stretched the margin to 51-27 still with 15:44 remaining. After six straight by F&M,
Anthony Goeb,
Luke Spellman, Bailey and Wiercinski all scored during an 8-2 run to leave things at 59-35. The Diplomats continued to add onto their advantage with a 12-4 gallop to push the lead over 30 (71-39), before two free throws for
B.J. McNeil stopped the momentum with 18:23 gone.
Drew Haueisen netted a jumper, before Agbonlaho finished off the game with a thunderous dunk to set the 73-45 final.
