(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's swim team was dominant in the water on Saturday, posting a 114-91 win over visiting Swarthmore College on senior day.
The Red Devils swept the top three spots in the 500 freestyle, led by senior Carson Gannon (Morristown, N.J./Morristown Beard) with a time of 5:20.51. Junior Caroline Brennan (Madison, N.J./Madison) touched the wall second (5:21.43), followed by first-year Lindsay Morton (Orange, Conn./Amity Regional) in third at 5:36.81.
Gannon swam with the winning 400 free relay (3:42.05) and placed third in the 200 free with a time of 2:00.32. Brennan captured the 1000 meter event with a time of 10:58.07 and finished second in the 200 butterfly (2:15.27). Morton was third in the butterfly, clocking a time of 2:15.62, and joined the 400 medley relay to place second (4:13.27).
Sophomore Caitlin Klockner (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough Regional) claimed three events on the day. She won the 100 and 200 freestyles with times of 54.26 and 1:58.43, respectively, and swam the lead leg of the winning 400 free relay (3:42.05).
First-year Emily Houser (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) anchored the winning free relay and posted a win in the 50 freestyle (25.43). Houser placed second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:13.30.
Senior Natalie LeBlanc (Westport, Conn./Staples) had a strong meet, placing second with the medley relay and second in the 200 individual medley (2:17.16). She finished third in the 200 backstroke as well, posting a time of 2:15.79.
First-year Jacqulyn Teller (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) added another strong performance as well. She placed second in the 200 breaststroke (2:33.97) and with the medley relay. She placed third in the individual medley with a time of 2:17.43.
Tanita Leary (Larchmont, N.Y./Mamaroneck) anchored the medley relay and joined the first place free relay. The first-year placed third in the 100 freestyle with a time of 56.85. Senior Kayla Haskins (Mars, Pa./Pine Richland) added a third in the 200 breaststroke (2:39.22) and junior Carla Vazquez-Ramos (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) claimed third in the 1000 freestyle (11:27.32).
The Red Devils improve to 10-3 on the year and 5-2 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils are off for two weeks to prepare for the Centennial Conference Championships, beginning on February 28th.
