(Carlisle, Pa.) –The Dickinson women's swim team turned in a dominant performance on Saturday, posting a 132-62 win over visiting Washington College on Saturday. The Red Devil men also had a strong meet, topping the Shoremen, 130-74.
First-year Caitlin Klockner (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough Regional) captured the 200 individual medley (2:16.42) and swam the anchor leg of the winning 400 medley relay (4:16.27). She joined the 400 free relay, clocking an exhibition time of 3:46.68. Sophomore Johanna Flemming (Northampton, Mass./Northampton) joined the medley and free relays, and added a win in the 200 freestyle, posting a time of 2:04.34.
Junior Carson Gannon (Morristown, N.J./Morristown Beard) touched the wall first in the 100 and 200 yard freestyle events, clocking times of 56.00 and 2:04.34, respectively. She swam exhibition as the anchor leg of the 400 free relay as well.
First-year Clara Russell (Oakdale, N.Y./Connetquot) won the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.09, holding off sophomore teammate Alexandra Goodson (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs), who came in at 26.18. Russell also placed second in the 100 freestyle, finishing just nine-hundredths of a second behind Gannon.
Carla Vazquez-Ramos (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) won the 1000 freestyle event with a time of 11:04.73, followed by Nora Snee (Fall Church, Va./JEB Stuart), just behind her with a time of 11:04.79. Vazquez-Ramos placed second in the 200 butterfly (2:25.54). Snee clocked a time of 5:35.25 to win the 500 freestyle while Maky Sullivan (South Hadley, Mass./Holyoke Catholic) placed third in 5:41.74, and swam the lead leg of the medley relay.
Caroline Brennan (Madison, N.J./Madison) and Natalie LeBlanc (Westport, Conn./Staples) claimed victories in the 200 butterfly and 200 backstroke events, respectively, with times of 2:15.76 and 2:18.38.
The Red Devils improved to 7-4 overall and 3-1 in the Centennial Conference. They are home again next Saturday, hosting Franklin & Marshall at 1:00 pm.
