(Westminster, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's and women's swim teams both posted Centennial Conference wins on Saturday, sweeping host McDaniel College. The Red Devil men outscored the Green Terror, 66-29, while the women earned the victory by a score of 55-40.
First-year Caitlin Klockner (Acton, Mass./Acton-Boxborough Regional) had another strong outing for the Red Devils, winning the 100 and 200 freestyle events with times of 55.60 and 1:59.25, respectively. She also swam the anchor leg of the 200 free relay that posted a time of 1:44.24 to claim second.
Sophomore Caroline Brennan (Madison, N.J./Madison) swam the second leg of the free relay. She was dominant in the distance events, winning the 1000 and 500 yard freestyle events with times of 10:53.10 and 5:17.67. Classmate Nora Snee (Falls Church, Va./JEB Stuart) claimed second in both the 1000 (11:08.67) and the 500 freestyle (5:29.24).
Sophomore Johanna Flemming (Northampton, Mass./Northampton) swam the second leg of the winning 200 medley relay (1:56.97). She won the 200 individual medley (2:20.12) and touched the wall second in the 200 breaststroke (1:12.25). Jamie Bugel (McLean, Va./McLean) was third in the breaststroke, clocking a time of 1:15. 58.
Sophomore Alexandra Goodson (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) led-off the medley relay and turned in a second place showing in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:04.61.
Carson Gannon (Morristown, N.J./Morristown Beard) and first-year Clara Russell (Oakdale, Calif./Connetquot) both joined the free and medley relays while Natalie LeBlanc (Westport, Conn./Staples) and Maky Sullivan (South Hadley, Mass./Holyoke Catholic) placed second and third in the 100 backstroke (1:06.12) and the 100 butterfly (1:05.38), respectively.
The Red Devil women improve to 6-4 overall and 2-1 in the Centennial Conference. They return home to face Washington College next Saturday at 2:00 pm.
